Accessibility Statement

Good Tape is committed to making our website and transcription service as accessible and usable as possible for everyone. Accessibility is both a core part of how we build our product and, in many ways, the reason our product exists.

Our product is an accessibility tool

Good Tape converts spoken audio into accurate, searchable, readable text. Transcription is fundamentally an accessibility technology: it makes the contents of meetings, lectures, interviews, and recordings available to people who are deaf or hard of hearing, to people who process written information more effectively than audio, and to anyone who benefits from being able to read, search, or revisit spoken information in written form.

Every professional transcript, subtitle file, and AI summary generated by Good Tape is a piece of content becoming more accessible than it was in its original audio form.

Our commitment

We aim to make our marketing website and web application accessible to the widest possible range of users, including those who rely on assistive technologies. We incorporate accessibility considerations into our design, development, and editorial processes, and we work continuously to improve the experience for all users.

Scope

This statement applies to our marketing website at goodtape.io and the Good Tape web application at app.goodtape.io.

Our approach

We aim to align our work with internationally recognized accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Our goal is to provide content that can be perceived, operated, understood, and used by a wide range of people and assistive technologies.

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort. Some areas of our website and app may not yet fully meet every standard, and we are committed to identifying and addressing gaps as part of our regular improvement cycle.

Natural limitations of an audio-first service

Because Good Tape is a transcription service, certain aspects of the product require audio as input. Users need to be able to upload or record audio files in order to generate a transcript. We recognize that this may create natural barriers for some users, and we do our best to design the surrounding experience account creation, file management, transcript editing, collaboration, sharing, and exporting so that it remains usable without reliance on hearing or spoken input.

Where audio content is integral to our own website (such as video testimonials or product demonstrations), we work toward providing accompanying text alternatives, including transcripts or captions, so the same information is available in a non-audio form.

Feedback

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Good Tape. If you encounter a barrier, have difficulty using any part of our service, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:

We aim to review and respond to accessibility feedback in a reasonable timeframe and will do our best to address concerns as quickly as possible.

Review

We review this statement periodically and update it when meaningful changes to our approach or our service occur.
