A message from Lasse Finderup, CEO and Cofounder of Good Tape

When we started Good Tape, we knew transcription wasn’t just about turning speech into text. It was about trust. Every file you upload contains something valuable: your research, your reporting, your client conversations, your creative ideas. These aren’t just “files.” They’re your work, your reputation, your future.

That’s why I want to make this statement to underline our promise on privacy and data absolutely clear.

• Your files are yours. We will never use them for anything other than providing your transcription. They will never be used to train AI models, sold to third parties, or repurposed for anything outside of your control.
• Security is non-negotiable. Every file you upload is encrypted in transit and at rest. Everything is processed on GDPR-compliant servers within the EU. We handle your data as if it were our own, with the utmost care and respect.
• Transparency is our baseline. We’ll always be upfront about how your data is processed, how long it’s stored, and who has access. No hidden terms, no fine print, no surprises.
• Control stays with you. Files are automatically deleted after transcription unless you choose otherwise. If you decide to store them, they remain in your account: private, secure, and accessible only by you.

I don’t see privacy as a feature. I see it as a responsibility. And as CEO, I take that responsibility personally. Thank you for trusting me and the rest of my team at Good Tape with your work. We’ll do everything we can to honor that trust.
